Frequently asked questions

The best time to visit Cusco is during the dry season, from April to October. During these months, days are sunny, there is little chance of rain, and conditions for trekking and visiting Machu Picchu are ideal. The months of June, July and August are the busiest in terms of tourism, so we recommend booking in advance. If you prefer to avoid crowds, the months of April, May, September and October offer a good balance between pleasant weather and fewer visitors.

Altitude sickness (soroche) is the body's reaction to lack of oxygen at altitudes above 2,500 meters. Cusco is at 3,400 masl, and some points like Rainbow Mountain exceed 5,000 masl. Symptoms include headache, fatigue, nausea and shortness of breath.

Recommendations to prevent it:

  • Arrive in Cusco at least 1 or 2 days before demanding tours
  • Drink plenty of water and coca tea (natural infusion)
  • Avoid heavy meals, alcohol and cigarettes for the first few hours
  • Walk slowly and rest when you need to
  • Consult your doctor about acetazolamide (Diamox) if you are prone to altitude sickness

You can book in several ways:

  • Online: Through our website, selecting the tour and completing the booking form
  • WhatsApp: Write to us at +51 XXX XXX XXX for personalized advice
  • Email: Send us an email to bookings@travelagency.com
  • Office: Visit us at our office in downtown Cusco

To confirm the booking, we request a deposit of 30% to 50% (depending on the tour) and the balance is paid up to 24 hours before the tour or in cash on the day of service.

We use modern tourist transportation units with:

  • Air conditioning and heating
  • Reclining and comfortable seats
  • Seat belts for all passengers
  • Accident insurance included
  • Professional drivers with experience on Andean routes
  • First aid kit and oxygen on board

For private tours, we offer more exclusive vehicles (SUVs, luxury vans).

For Machu Picchu, we recommend booking at least 2 to 3 months in advance for high season (June-August) and for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain you need 3 to 4 months because there are only 400 daily spots. For low season (November-March), 1 month is usually sufficient. Machu Picchu tickets are limited and sell out quickly, especially for the most popular circuits.

Punctuality is essential. If you arrive late:

  • Up to 15 minutes late: we will wait for you, but tour time will be reduced
  • More than 15 minutes: the tour will leave without you so as not to affect the rest of the group. In that case, no refund
  • For Machu Picchu tours: if you miss the train or bus, you will have to purchase new tickets on your own

We recommend being at the meeting point 10-15 minutes before the indicated time.
